Hazards & Toxic Symptoms
Trifluorotrichloroethane is a combustible gas or liquid (saturated hydrocarbon chain) belonging to the alkane category. It is colorless and flammable, forming explosive mixtures when mixed with air. It has low toxicity and poses the following main risks: ① fire and explosion (the lower explosion limit is usually 1-10%); ② simple asphyxiation caused by high concentrations displacing oxygen in enclosed spaces; ③ long-term exposure to high concentrations may cause mild anesthesia and dizziness. Alkanes heavier than air tend to accumulate on the ground/in low-lying areas. Storage sites must be equipped with LEL monitoring and mandatory ventilation.
