Epichlorohydrin belongs to the ether class (C-O-C structure), and most of it is highly flammable liquid or gas, with strong anesthetic effect in vapor form. It has a low lower explosion limit and can be ignited by electrostatic sparks. Long-term storage may produce peroxides (which can explode under shock or heating). It must be stored away from light and heat, and peroxides must be regularly detected. Commonly used PID monitoring is recommended.
