Methyl ethyl ether belongs to the ether category (C-O-C structure), and most of them are highly flammable liquids or gases. Their vapor has a strong anesthetic effect. With a low lower explosion limit, they can be ignited by electrostatic sparks. Long-term storage may produce peroxides (which can explode upon shock or heating). Storage must be protected from light and heat, and peroxides must be regularly detected. Commonly used PID monitoring.
