Ethyl methyl ether belongs to the ether category (C-O-C structure), and most of it is highly flammable liquid or gas, with strong anesthetic effect in vapor form. It has a low lower explosion limit and can be ignited by electrostatic sparks. Long-term storage may generate peroxides (which can explode when shaken or heated). It must be stored away from light and heat, and peroxides must be regularly detected. Commonly used PID monitoring is recommended.
