3-Butenenitrile, a nitrile compound (-C≡N structure), generally exhibits high toxicity. Its metabolism in the body can release cyanide ions (CN⁻), inhibiting cytochrome oxidase and causing tissue hypoxia. The clinical manifestations are similar to those of cyanide poisoning: headache, nausea, dyspnea, and loss of consciousness. It can be absorbed through the skin. Commonly used PID monitoring is recommended, and dedicated cyanide alarms should be installed in important locations.
