Isopropyl ether belongs to the ether category (C-O-C structure), and most of them are highly flammable liquids or gases, with strong anesthetic effects in vapor form. They have a low lower explosion limit and can be ignited by electrostatic sparks. Long-term storage may generate peroxides (which can explode upon shock or heating). Storage must be protected from light and heat, and peroxides must be regularly detected. Commonly used PID monitoring.
