二丙基硫醚 Detection
Formula C₆H₁₄S · CAS 111-47-7 · 恶臭含硫化合物
Hazards & Toxic Symptoms
Dipropyl sulfide is a sulfur-containing organic compound (such as mercaptan/sulfide), with a strong rotten odor (very low olfactory threshold, mercaptan can reach ppb level). It is commonly used as a natural gas odorant to facilitate leak detection. Its vapor irritates the mucous membrane and can damage the liver and kidneys upon long-term exposure. It is commonly found in the petroleum refining, paper-making, and pharmaceutical industries. Commonly used sensors include PID (IP 9-9.5 eV) or dedicated electrochemical mercaptan sensors.
Typical Application Scenarios
- Natural gas odorization process
- Petroleum refining desulfurization
- Paper making / Pharmaceuticals / Pesticides
Detection Principle / Recommended Sensors
PID / dedicated electrochemical sensor for mercaptan detection
Common Range:0-50 ppm
