Hydrogen iodide is an iodinated organic compound, typically less toxic than its corresponding chlorinated/brominated counterparts, but still exhibits irritation and neurotoxicity. Due to its relatively low vapor pressure, the risk of leakage is lower than that of chlorinated/brominated compounds. PID monitoring is commonly employed.
