Ozone is a light blue gas with a distinctive fishy odor and is a strong oxidizer. Low concentrations irritate the upper respiratory tract; high concentrations can cause pulmonary edema. Prolonged exposure accelerates the decline of lung function. It can be smelled at just 0.1 ppm.
