Fluoride ions can bind to tissue calcium, causing deep necrosis; its vapor irritates the respiratory tract, leading to delayed pulmonary edema (with a latency period of 4-48 hours). It is commonly used in semiconductor etching, fluorine chemical synthesis, and polymer raw materials. Special fluorine-resistant materials must be used for storage, equipped with dedicated fluorine sensors and eye wash stations/showers.
